‘Black Baccara’ Roses from Peterkort, Privet berry, Pieris, and mixed succulents make for a romantic winter bouquet.

Privet berry and blush garden roses go winter wild for a Tessa Kim photo shoot. And once you see Tessa’s beautiful hand-made accessories, you’ll be looking for an excuse to wear one!

And for the late summer bride, ‘Blue Muffin’ Viburnum and ‘Cafe Au Lait’ Dahlias make perfect companions.

Just because you’re too afraid to take out the lawn furniture yet doesn’t mean you can’t have a little bit of summer on the dining room table (the inside one, of course).  The Blush Summer Flower Subscription Program begins July 7th and we have lots of fun in store for you this year!

The bride carried a mix of peach and ivory – David Austin ‘Juliet’ Garden Roses, ‘Vendela’ Roses, Stock, Sweet Peas, and ‘Surprise’ Roses from Peterkort. The best part of our day was waiting around to see Megan in that stunning dress!

Although it’s not officially summer yet, last weekend’s wedding for Tam and Mike sure started to get us in the mood! This was a fun one for many reasons, not least of which was the amazing amount of locally grown materials we were able to use thanks to the new Seattle Wholesale Grower’s Market.

Along with the beautiful David Austin ‘Juliet’ Garden Roses from California, the local stars were: Viburnum (2 kinds!), Ranunculus, ‘Coral Charm’ Peonies, Rubus, Raspberry Vine, Nicotinia, Peterkort Roses, and of course, Temptress Poppies……..

While we await the “real” images from yesterday’s absolutely gorgeous wedding at Terra Bella (formerly Larkspur Farms, in Conway), here’s a sneak preview of the bridal bouquets.  The roses for Megan’s big day were: David Austin ‘Juliet’, ‘Vendela’, and ‘Surprise’ (from PeterKort).  Peach and white Stock, Ranunculus, Larkspur and Sweet Peas rounded out the spring-y bridesmaid’s bouquets. Now just wait until you see the dress……………

Looking back to January at this cheerful yellow, coral and turquoise palette designed by Kirstie Warren of SimplyWed makes us wonder if we might have possibly blinked and missed Spring in the Northwest this year (??) Oh well, it was fun while it lasted and we had a fabulous time exhibiting at Novelty Hill-Januik during Weddings in Woodinville.

The theme was “Whimsy and Wit” and Kirstie outdid herself down to the very last detail. We added centerpieces to the tabletops in yellows, corals and reds  using just a few of our Spring favorites – Ranunculus, Tulips, Acacia, Craspedia, and a little Stock for fragrance.  The fringy soft yellow Double Tulips are one of our favorites for Spring bridal bouquets too! For just a simple touch to the already delectable cake, we used classic cream ‘Vendela’ Roses along with white Dendrobium Orchids…..now it’s time to go have a piece of cake. Thank you, Jessica and Brian, for being so wonderful to work with!

Local Hellebore and Lilacs seem to be one of the most natural fits for Ranunculus arrangements….

It’s hard to decide which color Ranunculus is our favorite, but white always makes the heart skip a beat!

The fresh Green of Queen’s Anne Lace mixed with rich chocolate Corydalis foliage makes a wonderful Spring wedding bouquet……..

And the bridesmaids need their Ranunculus too!……..

On the subject of Ranunculus that don’t have to travel half-way around the world (although our September brides are very happy that they agree to make the trip), a few of our local growers in Washington and Oregon are hard at work on ways to make the Spring crop come just a bit earlier. We’ll talk more about that project very soon!

Family style tables are the most fun to decorate and this lucky bride found some beautiful fabric, and willing bridesmaids, to sew up the wonderful table runners. Thank you to Rachel Bayne Photography for the fabulous shot!
