Beautiful Semiahmoo Wedding Photos by Alante Photography!

The sun was shining for Jessica and Brian’s October wedding at Semiahmoo and the talented Loren and Kimberly of Alante Photography captured the event beautifully. We have cake on the brain these days, so this shot had to be front-and-center, but check out the Alante blog post for more of their lovely work.

For just a simple touch to the already delectable cake, we used classic cream ‘Vendela’ Roses along with white Dendrobium Orchids…..now it’s time to go have a piece of cake. Thank you, Jessica and Brian, for being so wonderful to work with!

Festive Summer Wedding Flowers

There’s nothing like ‘Nancilee’ Dahlias to remind us that these gray days won’t last forever! In addition to the beautiful hot pink of the dahlias, these early September wedding centerpieces included a mix of Baptisia, Sedum, Eucalyptus, Roses (‘Milva’, ‘Skyline’ and ‘Milano’) with a few splashes of Freesia, for a little nod to the bride’s bouquet.

Family style tables are the most fun to decorate and this lucky bride found some beautiful fabric, and willing bridesmaids, to sew up the wonderful table runners. Thank you to Rachel Bayne Photography for the fabulous shot!

Orange – it’s here to stay!

Whether it be a summer or fall ceremony, our brides are telling us that orange wedding flowers will still be going strong in 2011! That’s a good thing in our book,  as it’s such a versatile color with lots of beautiful variations in the world of flowers.  Here we have a mix of Ranunculus, Stock, Roses and locally-grown Dahlias that worked so nicely with the mocha of the bridesmaid dresses.

Because we wanted that pop of orange, while still maintaining the richness of the bridesmaid dresses and cream from the bride’s bouquet, we chose a variety of roses (‘Vendela’, ‘Leonidas’, ‘Cherry Brandy’) and bridged the palette together with the apricot-colored Stock. And of course, Dahlia season in the Northwest peaks just in time for beautiful fall wedding bouquets  so here we have ‘Maarn’ and ‘Amber Queen’ joining the mix.

Fall Wedding Bouquets – Straight from the Field!

We have lots of catching up to do from our 2010 wedding season, so here we go! We were so thrilled to be a part of  Amy and Howard’s beautiful day on Cypress Island shot by Suzanne Fogarty and planned by Soiree Event Stylists of Anacortes.  Amy left all of the decision making for her bouquet in our hands and had just one request: ” I want it to look like I picked it straight out of the field”………how’s that for an easy-going bride!?!

September is a wonderful time to be building fall wedding bouquets in our neck-of-the-woods, so we were able to use mostly locally grown materials, including: Dahlias (a couple of our favorites, ‘Cafe Au Lait’ and ‘Karma’ Chocolate), Amaranth, Scabiosa, Veronicastrum, Chasmanthium (Northern Sea Oats), Millet, and Artemisia.  To top it all off, we threw in a couple of non-locals  (only because we knew Amy would love them): Ranunculus, Seeded Eucalyptus, and Creme d’la Creme Roses.
